ORCHESTRAS AND ENSEMBLES
We’re pleased to report a very strong turnout for both Junior and Senior orchestras since resuming on Friday, September 29th. The Flute Choir resumed last Friday under Ermelinda Xhyheri in the Moriarty (Upper) Studio with a great turnout..
KERRY CHAMBER CHOIR
Kerry’s leading chamber choir returned to regular Monday night rehearsals in Kerry School of Music’s Fleischmann Studio on Monday, September 17th. The programme for this year includes Handel’s Messiah in Killarney Friary on Sunday, December 16th.
A choral setting of Schubert’s masterful song cycle Winterreise and excerpts from Orff’s Carmina Burana, adapted for Soloists, SATB choir, two pianos and percussion is also on the menu. New members are always welcome. Call Aidan O’ Carroll directly on 0874103220.
TRALEE CHIILDREN’S CHOIR
Tralee Children’s Choir resumed rehearsals on Monday September 10th with a very strong turnout. Membership is open to children between the ages of 7-12. Rehearsals take place every Monday 6.30 -7.15pm in the Fleischmann Studio in Kerry School of Music. Call 066-7125690 or 0874103220 for further information.
The choir will record a Christmas CD and perform widely throughout the county during the coming year. There will also be a number of joint performances with the Listowel and Cathedral Children’s Choirs duringthe year.
LISTOWEL CHILDREN’S CHOIR
This new choir is causing great excitement. Rehearsals began on Tuesday, September 18th in St. Patrick’s Hall, Upper William St. under Listowel Soprano Emma Tarrant. Call or message 0874103220 for details.
Light Opera Society of Tralee’s (LOST) production of the multi award winning musical Chicago, due to run in Siamsa Tire last week has been rescheduled to run from March 6th to 9th.
The production is directed by Grainne O’ Carroll, choreographed by Katrina Galvin and musically directed by Aidan O’ Carroll and Anna Connolly. Booking is at Siamsa Tire Box-office on 066-7123055.
