The Sligo Champion - - NEWS -

THERE’S something magic about Christmas, and that something is the excitement and happiness we see as the magic and wonder of this special time of year spreads across the faces of our children.

This year Quayside have teamed up with Ocean Media and Feehilys Florists to create a very very special winter wonderland with an autentic log cabin being brought in specially from the North Pole for the arrival of the man himself, Santa Claus.

Two floors of the city center shopping center are going to be transformed into an immersive experience. From the main street level there will be an entrance into the Winter Wonderland in what promises to be the biggest event of its kind in the region.

“We have been working with Feehily’s and other local suppliers to create a truly magical experience that will rival any similar event in the country, we are investing in making Quayside and subsequently Sligo THE place to come and see Santa.

“We all have memories of the real magical experiences at Christmas and we are committed to providing something very memorable for young and old”, said Daniel Browne from Ocean Media, who are organising the event.

He would not be drawn on further details other than to say there will be a Christmas market for adults as well as a two story immersive Christmas experience for kids. However he did reveal the return of the famous Quayside ‘ Santa parade’ on December 1st.

“Santa and his Sleigh will be touring the streets of Sligo to say hello to all the boys and girls on December 1st before his big arrival at Quayside and the official opening of the Winter wonderland.
