The Sligo Champion - - NEWS -

FUNERAL arrangements have yet to be finalised for the mother of two who died following a tragic fall in Spain last week. The entire South Sligo community is in shock since the news came through of the sudden death of Mairead Davey (nee Marren), a native of Tourlestrane. She was on a short break in Spain to mark her 40 th birthday along with her husband Sean, when she had a fall. Her remains are expected to return home for funeral this week. Mairead lived with her husband Sean, a former County GAA player, and two young children, Shannon and Jason in Tubbercurry over the past eight years and got very involved in community activities, particularly sporting events. She was employed as a nurse at Cregg House, Rosses Point in the recent past. The sympathy of the entire South Sligo community goes out to her parents, Kathleen and Michael Marren, husband Sean, children, sisters Kathleen and Geraldine, brother John, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and many close friends. As a mark of respect Tourlestrane’s Junior Championship game against Curry for whom Sean plays, on Saturday was postponed.
