Well done to storm Opehlia work­ers

Sligo County Coun­cil front­line staff were widely con­grat­u­lated on their ef­forts dur­ing re­cent Storm Ophe­lia.

At last Mon­day’s coun­cil meet­ing coun­cil­lors praised the ef­forts of coun­cil staff in pro­vid­ing con­stant up­dates to peo­ple through­out the course of the storm, and in their ef­forts af­ter­wards to clean up and re­pair any dam­age.

Coun­cil­lor Marie Casserly con­grat­u­lated staff on their ef­forts, par­tic­u­larly in pro­vid­ing up­dates to the coun­cil­lors and wider pub­lic on how the county was be­ing im­pacted as the storm pro­gressed through the north west.

Coun­cil­lor Casserly’s sen­ti­ments were echoed by all coun­cil mem­bers while Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Ciarán Hayes said it was a good co­or­di­nated ef­fort from na­tional to lo­cal level and praised the com­mu­ni­ca­tion within the county.
