AMATEUR DRAMATIC SOCIETY
‘Drastic Action’ will be performed by the Castleconnor Amateur Dramatic Society in Castleconnor Community Centre from March 9 to March 11 at 8 p.m. each evening. Ticket Price: €10.
This new three-act comedy, written by Tom Tuffy, a member of the Castleconnor Amateur Dramatic Society is set in the fictional village of Rathcashel and promises to have action, laughs, ups and downs and the hint of romance.
With weekly updates on the events unfolding in ‘Rathcashel’ to be found on the ‘Castleconnor Amateur Dramatic Society’ Facebook page, curiosity among the local communities is gaining momentum and a great turnout in support of the all involved is expected on the dates.
Set in the quiet sleepy village of Rathcashel in rural Ireland, the local garda Station is renowned for its lack of action, or so it seems. Visitors to Rathcashel Garda Station are met by a friendly force of Guards, who may have ‘possibly’ bent a few rules in their time but of course never broke them. On the other hand, the few visitors to the station probably bent twisted and broke most of them. When word reaches the Sergeant that a visit from a review committee seeking station closures is scheduled, a plan is hatched to ensure they all look busy. What unfold are events that even the four Guards couldn’t have foreseen especially when they weren’t even involved in the planning.
Doors open at 7.30 p.m. with curtains up for 8.30 p.m. each evening. ‘LEAP IN THE DEEP’
The Easkey ‘Leap in the DEEP’ fundraiser will take place at Pool Gorm on Easter Sunday at 1 p.m. Please sponsor the brave swimmers who will be leaping into the Atlantic.

The death has taken place of Matthew Clarke, Clooneen, Dromore West. His remains reposed at Sweeney’s funeral home with removal to the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Dromore West. Burial took in Churchill Cemetry following Requiem Mass. Sympathy is extended to his family and relatives.

ST PATRICK’S DAY PARADE
The Easkey’s St Patrick’s Day parade is on Saturday, March 17, starting at 3 p.m. All Floats, groups and walkers, will meet at St James’ Church car park. There will be a viewing stand at Pudding Row to announce every group as they pass by. Entry is free of charge; please register your float/business so you can get a plug from the viewing stand. The parade in Dromore West takes place at 4 p.m. starting at the church and will be followed by refreshments and entertainment in the community centre.
