Blasphemy discussion at meeting

The Sligo Champion - - NEWS -

NORTH West Humanists are hosting a public meeting with guest speaker Bob Rees to speak about blasphemy.

The country goes to the polls on October 26 th next to vote on a referendum to remove blasphemy as an offence from the Constitution. Mr Rees is a long time humanist, author of Secular Humanism, Skepticism and Reason and a regular contributor to the Irish Freethinker and Humanist magazine.

Secular Humanism offers an easy introduction for newcomers to humanism.

It explains what humanism is, how it works, and where it came from. It describes what it is to be a sceptical humanist, and it discusses some of the moral dilemmas facing Humanists in the 21st century. The meeting gets underway at 8pm tonight (October 9 th) in the Radisson Hotel Sligo.
