Man now liv­ing in ‘peace and har­mony’

A 26-year-old man be­fore Sligo District Court charged with pub­lic or­der of­fences was now liv­ing in ‘peace and har­mony’ with his part­ner, Sligo District Court heard. The de­fen­dant David Kan­toch, of Rath­braughan Park, Bal­ly­tiv­nan, was no longer drink­ing, the court heard. Sergeant Derek But­ler said gar­daí were called on Novem­ber 4 th 2017 to Rath­braughan Park where the de­fen­dant was af­ter hav­ing a fight with his part­ner and very drunk and ag­gres­sive. He was sub­se­quently ar­rested. On an­other oc­ca­sion on Christ­mas Eve 2017 nu­mer­ous 999 calls were made and when gar­daí ar­rived they found the de­fen­dant’s part­ner and her fa­ther in the house and in fear of the man who was very drunk. It took a num­ber of gar­daí to ar­rest him. Mr Tom MacSharry so­lic­i­tor (de­fend­ing) said his client apol­o­gised to gar­daí and doesn’t drink any­more. He was fined €100 for be­ing drunk in a pub­lic place and the breach­ing the peace mat­ter was ad­journed un­til March.
