HIGH PARK NS OPEN EVENING

High Park National School are holding their annual open evening on Wednesday, February 13, from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. in the school. All the school teachers will be in attendance as well as representa­tives of the parents’ associatio­n. New students are also welcome to attend this open evening.

DRAMA GROUP PRODUCTION

The Skreen-Dromard Drama Group will stage their hilarious comedy ‘A Fish Out of Water’ in the Hawks Well Theatre, Sligo on February 9. Tickets for the Hawks Well night can be got by contacting 087 6806905 or from any Cast Member. Ticket cost is €12.

PROPERTY MARKING

The Telesis Property Marking Unit which can punch your Eircode on to objects making it a less attractive target to thieves will be at the community centre on Saturday, February 16, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. You must have your Eircode number with you and it will be punched onto your property e.g. bikes trailers and other items. MEALS ON WHEELS

The Easkey Community Meals on Wheels Group are providing hot meals consisting of dinner and Dessert delivered to house door. This service is provided 365 days of the year in the area from Ballisodar­e Bridge to the Quay Road Ballina. Contact 096 49818 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. from Monday to Friday weekly for further details.

Also Volunteer Drivers are wanted to deliver these meals for two hours approximat­ely once every five weeks at weekend only. Contact the above telephone number if available to help.

COMMUNITY CENTRE ACTIVITIES

Social Dance Classes will start on Wednesday, February 6, from 8.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. Ring Eunice at 086 3113033 for further details. Apologies for the cancelled January Classes.

Circuit Training on Monday and Thursday nights from 8.30 p.m. to 9.15 p.m. All abilities welcome.

Active Age Group meet Tuesdays at 2.30 p.m. for gentle exercises, games and refreshmen­ts. New members always welcome.

COMMUNITY GAMES

The 2019 Community Games events will commence on February 17 with Cross County and Mixed Dist Relay. Entry forms are now available in both High Park and Ballinlig National Schools plus Beltra post office and Collerys Shop Beltra. Entries should be submitted by February 4 with €5 per child registrati­on fee.

The following events have to be entered online before February 9 – the County Duathlon on February 17; the County Quiz on February 17 ; Table Tennis on February 20 ; Gymnastics on February 18 (No area final – just county); Area only Swimming on February 4 with County Final on April 1 and 2; Badminton – TBC Basketball in both age groups – TBC Draughts on March 3; Indoor Soccer on March 9 and 10 and County Art Final on March 18.

SYMPATHY

Deepest sympathy is extended to Charlie Harrison and the Harrison family, Dunmoran, Skreen on the recent death of his sister Nora Reid, late of Dublin and Ballisodar­e, and to all her relatives and friends in the local area.
