Wexford People - - NEWS -

SOUTH East Radio has been shortlisted against national and local rivals for two categories in the 2017 IMRO Radio Awards.

The Wexford-based station is up for a current affairs award for its programme Heartbeat and Alan Corcoran is in the running for the speech broadcaster award against rivals including those at BBC radio stations.

The awards are due to take place at Lyrath Estate Hotel on Friday, October 6.

Speaking about the judging process and quality of the entries, Awards Committee Chairperson Sean Murtagh said the record number of 677 entries was an indicator of the continuing level of support the radio industry has for the Awards.

Presenter Alan Corcoran.
