Re­peat­edly breached bail con­di­tions

A 32-year-old man who re­peat­edly broke bail con­di­tions by go­ing to the Wex­ford home of his for­mer part­ner was re­manded in jail.

Wex­ford Dis­trict Court was told that the woman with whom he had a seven-year re­la­tion­ship took out a bar­ring or­der against the de­fen­dant.

How­ever, he was ar­rested at her home the pre­vi­ous Fri­day, al­legedly bang­ing on win­dows and mak­ing threats.

He was al­lowed bail by Judge John Chea­tle at a spe­cial Satur­day court sit­ting, with the con­di­tion that he must stay away.

How­ever, gar­daí were called once more in the early hours of the fol­low­ing day and they spot­ted him run away, though they later ap­pre­hended him.

His for­mer part­ner said in court that she would be scared if he was re­leased.

Judge Miriam Walsh con­firmed the bar­ring or­der for a year and re­manded the man in cus­tody for a week.
