A 33-year-old man al­ready serv­ing a jail term was back be­fore the Dis­trict Court sit­ting in Wex­ford,

Thomas Kelly of 9 Stream Street, Tagh­mon, ad­mit­ted hav­ing €10 worth of cannabis when travelling as pas­sen­ger in a car stopped by Garda John Cleary in Tagh­mon on Oc­to­ber 17, 2015.

Judge Ger­ard Haughton noted that, though Kelly had pre­vi­ous con­vic­tions, none was un­der the Mis-Use of Drugs Act.

He al­lowed the de­fen­dant the ben­e­fit of the Pro­ba­tion Act be­fore Kelly was re­turned to prison un­der es­cort.
