War­rant is­sued for ar­rest

A SIM­PLE speed pros­e­cu­tion against John Quigley of Kil­mal­lock, Bal­ly­murn turned out to be not so straight­for­ward when it was con­sid­ered at the Dis­trict Court in Wex­ford.

The de­fen­dant mo­torist was sum­monsed for al­legedly driv­ing at 99 km/h in Barn­town.

A war­rant for Quigley’s ar­rest was is­sued at Wex­ford Dis­trict Court af­ter Judge Gerard Haughton was told that it ap­peared two li­cences had been is­sued to the ac­cused.

The judge ex­am­ined doc­u­ments and noted that a 12 year dis­qual­i­fi­ca­tion dat­ing back to Novem­ber of 2011 was on the record against one of th­ese li­cences.
