Fines for drivers who blocked disabled bay

-

BLOCKING a parking bay reserved for holders of disability permits while she made a delivery cost Glenda Fortune (44) of Harbour House, Church Lane, Wexford €150 by way of fine.

Ms Fortune told the District Court that she left the motor running while she went into a nearby shop on the afternoon of February 14 but accepted that she had no right to pull in at the bay in Selskar Court.

A similar offence was committed by Barry Purcell from Raheenduff in Adamstown at Charles Street on December 7 last, who explained that he was calling to collect food from a chipper when he parked at the disability reserved bay.

Again a fine of €150 was handed down.
