Kilmore Quay’s future is up for discussion
LOCAL people are to be given the opportunity to have their say on how they would like Kilmore Quay developed at a public information meeting at the Stella Maris Centre at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday, November 23.
A five-year plan for Kilmore Quay and its environs has been commissioned to outline a vision for the further enhancement of the area including the development of fisheries, tourism, micro-enterprise, heritage and the community sector.
Kilmore Quay Community Development Association has secured funding under the EU Flag programme to carry out this plan and the first part of this process is to consult with people who live in the village and in the surrounding area. Kilmore Quay is a unique coastal village with a wonderful array of natural resources and a well-established fishing and tourism industry. It also has a strong community spirit which has instigated a wide range of innovative, new initiatives over the last decade.
