Festival fireworks clarification

Wexford People - - NEWS -

WEXFORD Festival Opera has asked us to point out that in an article on the fireworks display published in last week’s edition, the following statement was incorrectly attributed to a spokesperson for Wexford Festival Opera. It was instead issued by Mark Dunne, the manager of CCS Events, the Waterford-based company engaged by the Festival to manage this year’s fireworks display:

‘Numbers were effected due to the later timings of the event and also due to the date change due to the extreme weather conditions (orange weather warnings on gales and rain). A decision was made on the night not to restrict the defined area to tickets due to lower numbers attending the event. Overall, the event ran well.’

We are happy to correct the error.
