-

A MOTHER of five who flashed at gardaí investigating a disturbance outside licensed premises on Wexford’s Main Street was convicted of threatening/abusive behaviour.

Maggie Connors (31) of 2 Thomas Street in Wexford was absent from the District Court sitting in Ardcavan but she was represented by solicitor Ed King.

He listened as Garda Declan Dennehy described what occurred on South Main Street on February 14 when a call was received around 1.20 a.m. When officers arrived, Ms Connors’ partner ran off from the scene.

However, then the defendant turned up in an intoxicated condition and she became convinced that her man had been arrested. She was highly abusive and spat at the garda van.

Garda Dennehy told Judge Gerard Haughton how she lifted up her dress and exposed herself to him and his colleagues.

Mr King pointed out that the accused, who draws family income supplement, had not come to recent garda attention.

She was fined €300.
