ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The annual general meeting of Kyle Forge will take place at the Forge on Tuesday, March 13 at 7.30 p.m. The committee are asking that all clubs who use the premises and all interested to come along on the night.

ADVERSE WEATHER

The very cold and adverse weather of the past week put paid to many events in the locality. The Sacrament of Confirmati­on due to have taken place in Crossabeg church on Friday morning and in Ballymurn church on Friday afternoon had to be cancelled. The local schools were also closed.

The Wexford Sportshall final due to have taken place on Wednesday of last week was also called off until further notice. Crossabeg national school had four teams entered in same. Athletic training was also called off. Please check on your neighbours in this cold spell.

CHURCH NEWS

Trociare boxes are now available at the back of the local church. Please take one and help those in need. Prayer meeting every Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. in the parochial house. Many thanks to all who subscribed to the recent collection for flowers for the church. Please reserve April 19th for a fund raising Fashion Show to be held in the Ferrycarri­g hotel.

ATHLETICS

Well done to Niall Sheil who travelled to the National Indoor Arena on Saturday week last to compete in the Leinster Indoors. Niall has been in great form lately and he continued this with a strong performanc­e to take the title in the 1500M Over 40 final. This sets him up nicely as he prepares for the National Indoor Championsh­ips as well as the European Indoor Championsh­ips in Madrid at the end of March.

Seamus Harding had a great run on his home turf on Sunday week last where he competed in the Curracloe 5k in aid of the local school.

The National Juvenile Indoor Championsh­ips due to take place on March 11 have been reschedule­d for Saturday, April 7 in AIT. Please keep an eye on St. Killian`s Athletic Club Facebook page for updates, photograph­s and news items.
