Team effort seals U-16 win

-

THE ENNISCORTHY Under-16 girls started very well in this Premier Division game last weekend, and with twelve minutes on the clock Miria O’Dowd scored a wonderful try.

The workrate didn’t stop there as the defence were superb. In the 25th minute Anna Nolan scored the second try with a great turnover and a fantastic run.

Mia Kelly converted with ease to leave a half-time score of 12-0.

In the second-half the Enniscorthy side knew they still had to work hard as a strong Tullamore were never going to give up, and it was all to play for.

Mia Kelly sent the ball flying between the posts from a penalty kick, but Tullamore got their first try in the 55th minute.

In the last minute of the game the Enniscorthy girls had just one more try in them.

It was scored from a great team effort, with Katie Whelan getting the break to ground the ball, and the conversion scored by Aoife Codd.

It was a massive team effort from every single girl.

Well done on a great win, with the next match away to Naas this coming weekend.
