ST PATRICK’S DAY PARADES: There will be a wealth of parades around the county on Saturday to celebrate St Patrick’s Day. Many of the parade start times have been changed this year to allow people watch the Six Nations match between Ireland and Scotland in the afternoon. The Wexford Parade is the first parade of the day kicking off at 10.45 a.m. Bunclody’s parade which is the 30th anniversar­y parade also starts at 10.45 a.m. and the theme of the parade is Happy Birthday to mark the occasion. The third parade of the day will be in Duncannon which starts on the beach at 12 noon. This is Ireland’s only beach parade and always attracts a large crowd. This will be followed by the parades in New Ross, Clonroche and Enniscorth­y which all start at 1 p.m. The parade in Fethard-On-Sea is at 1.45 p.m. while Carrig-On-Bannow’s parade will start at 2 p.m. The final parade of the day will be in Gorey which kicks off at the usual time of 3 p.m. On the day there will be a wealth of colour and diversity on show throughout the county with walking groups, floats, community groups and commercial businesses all taking to the streets to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.
