Ac­cused sent for trial

A Wex­ford man ac­cused of as­sault caus­ing harm has had his case sent for­ward to the Cir­cuit Court for trial.

Philip Fo­ley (48) of 9 Lower John Street, Wex­ford, is charged with as­sault caus­ing harm to Barry Smith at The River­side Park Ho­tel on Au­gust 18 of last year.

A book of ev­i­dence was served in court and solic­i­tor John Burke O’Leary was ap­pointed with a cer­tifi­cate for one coun­sel.

Judge Ger­ard Haughton warned Fo­ley that if an al­ibi formed any part of his de­fence, he had 14 days to fur­nish the pros­e­cu­tion with de­tails. He then made the or­der send­ing the case for­ward to the cur­rent sit­ting of Wex­ford Cir­cuit Court.
