REMEMBER TO CHECK OUT FABULOUS FETTITT’S LANE
MEDIEVAL thoroughfare Fettitt’s Lane off the Main Street in Wexford is doubling as an outdoor art gallery showcasing the work of third year Fine Art students in the Wexford School of Art and Design at Carlow Campus.
Wexford Borough District Council gave the students permission to use the walls and the fronts of vacant shops to hang paintings, drawings and installations which have turned a neglected and under-used space into an interesting attraction.
The local authority power-washed and painted the area for the project and outdoor staff even helped the artists hang the exhibition entitled, ‘Here and Now’.
The 13 BA Hons art student exhibitors are Mary Archer, Alison Bermingham, Edwina Byrne, Darragh Fanning, Laura Flood, Johanna Martin, Edward McGuinness, Ronan Moore, Theresa Nolan, Claudia Roche, Jamie Sinnott, Richard Walsh and Sonya Weston.
Shown here are some of the works on display.
