Couple’s one-stop clothes shop opens

-

A one-stop-shop for clothes cleaning and repairs opened in South Street, New Ross, recently, continuing a tradition of dry cleaning going back over 30 years in the building. Christy’s dry cleaners is a joint venture between Christy and his wife Eileen St Ledger.

The business was previously run by Frank for 17 years, having previously been known as Dee’s Dry Cleaners. Eileen worked at Dee’s as far back as 1989 where she met Christy. They hit it off and are now married for 36 years – so moving in to work together has seen them come full circle.

Up until the spring they worked together from Sew It Seams on Mary Street. Eileen looks after alterations and all clothes repairs. ‘We’re off to a great start,’ she said.

A crowd of friends and local business owners gathered in May for the launch of the couple’s new business venture.

Eileen thanked everyone for their support, saying all of the good wishes mean so much to her and Christy.
