Teachers at the CBS Primary School get into the spirit by dressing up for the annual Fun Run to raise funds for the school.

THE PUPILS at the CBS Primary School let their imaginations run wild for their annual Fun Run on Friday morning.

The event, which is in its 30th year, is always held on the first Friday in October and is one of the school’s main fundraisers, the proceeds of which go towards the main running of the school.

There were ghosts and goblins, cowboys and Indians, clowns and, in almost every classroom, the Avengers assembled to keep order on the shenanigans!

School principal Vicky Barron remarked: ‘The kids were given sponsorship cards in advance of the run and we are very grateful to the wider community who supported them and the school.

‘The funds will go towards things like heating, paper, basic things that schools shouldn’t have to fundraise for but the Department doesn’t fund schools adequately for.’

While money was still coming in, Ms Barron estimated that around €5,000 was raised.
