Music high achievers feature in concert
HIGH achievers in County Wexford School of Music have been formally acknowledged at an afternoon concert they participated in at their base in Summerhill, Wexford.
The concert featured 18 of the school’s 29 students who achieved distinctions in their respective exams for the last academic term.
The event featured an eclectic line-up of instruments with everything from voice, percussion and woodwind to string instruments and piano featuring in the live performance.
The programme of music was also varied and showcased many different genres of music from classical to jazz and pop. Soundtrack tunes from some very famous films were also included in the repertoire on stage.
The school’s Principal and Musical Director of the concert, David Creevy, presented certificates to the students on the day in acknowledgement of their exceptional results.
A spokesperson in the school commented that this year’s results were very good with around a quarter of the students receiving distinctions while many others also received exceptionally high marks.
