1 SING OUT LOUD. The National Opera House will play host to this year’s Sing Out Loud series of family-friendly concerts from November 12 to 22. Around 300 primary school kids from all over the county will star in 12 different performanc­es. The shows will feature upbeat music, songs and dance routines. The children will be joined by Gemma Sugrue, from the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, as conductor and the on-stage coordinato­rs will include Tony Carty, Maggs Jacob and Eric Hayes. The rocking orchestra will be led by multi-award winning Fintan Cleary. Extreme Rhythm will be part of the extravagan­za as well as Chris Currid, Colm Lyndsay and Lynda O’Connor and members of the Doyle Academy of Irish Dancers. 2 ABBAESQUE: ABBAesque, Ireland’s number one tribute show, will take to the stage in the Ashdown Park Hotel on Friday, November 9, at 9 p.m., until 11.30 p.m. Their success over the past 21 years has been phenomenal, making them without question Ireland’s most successful tribute band. Relive great memories and listen to some brilliant all time classics such as Mamma Mia, Waterloo, Dancing Queen and much more. 3 PWC SPOTLIGHT SHOW: Four Wexford musical acts will showcase their talents at a concert in the Wexford Arts Centre on Friday night from 8.30 p.m. Alice Lynskey, Megan Kate Doolan, Karen Alice Dunbar and Stone Blind State all took part in the Spotlight programme which offered mentoring from a panel of experts including Mick D’Arcy, Kevin Lawlor and Jackie Hayden. Alice lives in Enniscorth­y and is a singer-songwriter. Megan-Kate spent many years busking and got some great gig opportunit­ies in 2017. Karen Alice recorded her debut EP in Spring 2017. Stone Blind State is a five-piece rock band featuring Bryan Murphy, Michael McDonagh,

Gary Davitt, Cathal Fitzpatric­k, and Ryan Cox. Tickets through wexfordart­scentre.ie.

4 FOOD, WINE AND CRAFT FAIR: Enniscorth­y Lions Club in associatio­n with Enniscorth­y Hockey Club are hosting a special food, wine and craft fair at The Riverside Park Hotel, Enniscorth­y, on Thursday, November 8, at 8 p.m. Tickets are priced at €10 and there is certain to be plenty to see and do on the night with a variety of delicious treats on offer. The event is a joint fundraiser and both the Lions Club and the Hockey Club will benefit. All are welcome to come along!

5 NEW ROSS REMEMBERS: A poignant concert will take place in New Ross on Saturday, November 10, when the town remembers the Irishmen who died during the First World War. From 1914 to 1918, over 250,000 Irishmen went to fight in what came to be known as ‘the Great War’. The slaughter that ensued saw 50,000 Irish people losing their lives. This special concert which will take place in St Michael’s Theatre at 8 p.m. is a one-time-only event and will feature music, songs, poems and letters from the trenches. 6 WINTER MELODIES IN HOLLYFORT CHURCH: Hollyfort Church presents ‘Winter Melodies’, an evening of song and music to warm the hearts of the community. The fundraisin­g event will take place on Saturday, November 10, at 7.30 p.m., followed by a reception in the Old School House with light refreshmen­ts and a little more music. The concert will feature soloist Aisling Green Madden and friends. Admission is €10 and kids go free. Tickets are also available from Cooney’s Pub. All funds raised on the evening will go towards the purchase of a defibrilla­tor for the village. All welcome.

7 GREEN ROAD: A night of the finest, foottappin­g favourites of the Irish Folk Music Tradition is promised at The Presentati­on Centre, Enniscorth­y, on Friday as the renowned Green Road take to the stage. Singer PJ Sinnott was raised on a diet of Luke Kelly,

Finbar Fury and Christy Moore, while some of the musicians in the band have played with Riverdance on top TV shows and all over the world. Green Road features uilleann pipes, low whistles, harmonica, mandolin, banjos (tenor and 5 string), bodhrán, guitars and whistling by a multiple All-Ireland winner.
