Theresa has beautician and floristry certificates to her credit. With a flair for matching colours and styling, it was always a dream of hers to open her own hat business.
When the chance came up for her to open a premises in her home village beside the Red Door Cafe, she jumped at it. Having purchased a huge variety of hats from a business she has expanded her range, purchasing from talented milliners in County Kilkenny and at hat trade shows in Dublin.
Purchasing high quality hats which are not available at multiple retailers, Theresa’s range is unrivalled in the district.
Her newly opened business has been described as a treasure trove and a one-stop-shop for ladies. As a labour of love she renovated an outbuilding at her grandfather’s property in the centre of the bustling village.
Arriving into the colourful shop you are greeted by Theresa. Groups are welcome so it is ideal for brides and bridesmaids and family members, who can take their time choosing their hats, which can be matched with clutch bags, pashminas, umbrellas and accessories.
Taking the hassle out of running around to different clothes and accessory shops to find the ideally matching accessories, it’s all available at Hat’s Life where headpieces, wedding shawls, bridal pieces and more can be accessorised. Sourced from across Ireland and the UK, these unique accessories and hats are available to suit all tastes.
As Theresa says: ‘I have unusual pieces and unique hats with a choice to suit all tastes. Why go out and buy a hat for €300 when you can rent one for substantially less.’
Theresa does a lot of evening appointments so she can cater for the busy working woman and housewife. Women are invited to come in and try on their outfit in comfort and match it up with a hat and whatever else they need to complete the look.
‘They can put on a little fashion show. I give my honest opinion and I have that flair and I have experience in advising people on fashion.’
