A NEW COLLECTION of paintings by Arklow’s Ferndale Artists’ Group is now on exhibition at Arklow Library.

The exhibition which features over 34 paintings will run for the month of July and is the culmination of the group’s work over recent months.

The majority of the works have used acrylics while a small number are oil on canvass. All the works are previously unseen.

There are about 20 members currently involved in the local art group which stemmed from a class run at the Arklow Further Education Centre.

When the students completed their course, they applied for funding to form a group and Ferndale Artists’ Group was born. They have previously exhibited at the Sunbeam Gallery, also in Arklow. Fans of nature, wildlife, floral and landscape art will not be disappointed as a clear outdoor and flaura and fauna theme runs through the exhibition.

Ferndale Artistss’ Group is taking a summer break for July and August but will resume its meetings in Solace Studio on the Riverwalk in September.
