Nurs­ing home presents cheques

BLAINROE Lodge Nurs­ing Home pre­sented the Wick­low and District Lions Club and the Ir­ish Ther­apy Dogs with cheques for €500 each at the home’s an­nual sum­mer bar­be­cue.

In De­cem­ber Blainroe or­gan­ised well-at­tended craft fair which helped to raise a to­tal of €1,000 for the two char­i­ties.

Wick­low and District Lions Club and the Ir­ish Ther­apy Dogs re­ceived a pleas­ant sur­prise on Fri­day as they at­tended the an­nual bar­be­cue for fam­ily and friends.

Sean Olo­han of the Lions Club and Kather­ine Byrne and Loulou Belle of Ir­ish Ther­apy Dogs were pre­sented with cheques by Blainroe Home Man­ager, Louise Mo­ran and Ac­tiv­i­ties Man­ager Amanda Vick­ers in the beau­ti­ful grounds of Blainroe. Mem­bers of the Lions Club en­ter­tain pa­tients ev­ery year in the nurs­ing home which is al­ways very well re­ceived.

This Fri­day, in Hunter’s Ho­tel, Rath­new, the Lions Club Pres­i­dent Tony Lyons will hand over his chain to the in­com­ing Pres­i­dent Pat O’Brien.
