LE­IN­STER CLAS­SIC MO­TOR­CY­CLE CLUB ROAD RUN IN AID OF LAU­RALYNN CHIL­DREN’S HOSPICE

A to­tal of 75 mo­tor­cy­clists gath­ered at Parkview House, Shil­le­lagh, last week­end to take part in the 15 th an­nual char­ity run hosted by Le­in­ster Clas­sic Mo­tor­cy­cle Club.

This year’s run was in aid of Lau­raLynn’s Chil­dren’s Hospice and fol­lowed a route through Bun­clody, Ferns, Camolin, Ark­low, Avoca -with a cof­fee stop in the Far­ri­ers In, Rath­drum, Laragh fin­ish­ing in Baltinglass where the riders en­joyed din­ner in Ger­maine’s.

Af­ter­wards, pre­sen­ta­tions were made and Peter Keogh and Tara Nolan from Shil­le­lagh were hon­oured to re­ceive a prize for the most amount of do­na­tions col­lected. Sec­ond prize went to Jimmy McNabb, Rath­new, third went to Tom Flem­ing, Red­cross and Martin Quaile from Shil­le­lagh re­ceived fourth prize. Fur­thest trav­elled went to Con Rogers who came down from Ash­bourne in Co Meath. Or­gan­iser Leonard Fitz­patrick thanked ev­ery­one who took part and said that it is a credit to them that the event has raised over €246,000 for char­ity since it started.

This year’s fi­nal amount will be in ex­cess of €10,000 and a cheque will be handed over to Lau­raLynn char­ity on Oc­to­ber 22. Thanks are ex­tended to ev­ery­one who sup­ported the event.
