Line-up for ICA Drama Fes­ti­val is an­nounced

THE line-up for the 63rd Wick­low ICA Drama Fes­ti­val has been con­firmed and in­cludes nine dif­fer­ent or­gan­i­sa­tions en­ter­ing a to­tal of 12 acts or sketches.

The fes­ti­val will take place in Gle­nealy Vil­lage Hall from Fri­day, Jan­uary 19, to Sun­day, Jan­uary 21. It is split into two sec­tions: sec­tion A is for one act plays or sin­gle acts from a full play, while sec­tion B is for sketches.

On Fri­day, Jan­uary 19, Delgany ICA will per­form the one-act com­edy ‘Whose Wed­ding is it any­way?’ by Mar­garet Bower while Cam­ross ICA from Co Wex­ford will take to the stage to per­form ‘A Gal­way Girl’, a one act com­edy/drama by Geral­dine Aron. Cam­ross ICA has also en­tered Jimmy Keary’s one act com­edy called ‘Up the Gar­den Path.’

Com­plet­ing the Fri­day line-up will be the Dalkey Play­ers with ‘Here We Are’ by Dorothy Parker.

On Satur­day, Jan­uary 20, Ash­ford ICA will be first on stage with ‘Clara’s on the Cur­tains’, a one act com­edy by Arthur Love­grove. Delgany Drama So­ci­ety will per­form the one act drama ‘ The Ex­iles’ by Jef­frey Gren­fell-Hill and Cool­gre­any Drama So­ci­ety will en­ter ‘Talk to me like the rain and let me lis­ten’ by Ten­nessee Wil­liams. The fi­nal act on the night will be a sketch by Delgany Drama So­ci­ety called ‘The Life and Soul’, writ­ten by Peter Rob­bie.

On Sun­day, Jan­uary 21, Square One will present the one act drama ‘Vigil’ by David But­ler, while St Pa­trick’s Drama So­ci­ety will present a sketch by Christopher Du­rang called ‘DMV Tyrant.’

Kil­rush Drama Group will per­form the one act drama ‘ Bar and Ger’ by Geral­dine Aron be­fore the fi­nal en­try of ‘Man on the Floor’, a one act com­edy de­vised by Neil Si­mon and per­formed by St Pa­trick’s Drama So­ci­ety.

The cur­tains will rise at 7.30 p.m. sharp on each night. Tick­ets cost €10 at the door and can also be pur­chased by con­tact­ing (087) 9833935.
