A final festive bash
A LARGE crowd gathered at Árus Lorcáin for the annual Arklow community Christmas dinner event.
Organised by the Arklow Community Action Resource Centre, the popular celebration is now in its ninth year and welcomed many familiar Arklow faces to the parish centre at Castlepark last Sunday.
The event is traditionally held in January when most other seasonal events are over and people might be looking for a fun, social occasion.
There was certainly plenty of goodwill and festive cheer, despite the chilly January conditions and the fact that Santa has come and gone for another year.
A small army of volunteers ensured that the day went off without a hitch, serving up a delicious meal to dozens of guests before they enjoyed some musical entertainment for the afternoon as well as a raffle.
The dinner is always a very welcome January highlight and this year it certainly served to banish the new year blues for many after the hustle and bustle of Christmas.
Diners enjoyed coming together for a chat and to enjoy a tasty three-course meal fit for a king.
The team at Arklow Community Action Resource Centre extended thanks to everyone who helped to make the day such a great success included the dedicated volunteers.
