Wicklow Montessori Primary School is a co-educational private primary school
A MONTESSORI education fosters a love of learning, creativity and innovation from an early age but for maximum benefit shouldn’t stop at pre-school.
Wicklow Montessori Primary School is a co-educational private primary school with small class sizes, located beside Wicklow Town and near the N11. The junior school was established in 1978 and caters for children from 3 to 12 years. Its teaching programme combines the internationally renowned Montessori method of education with the State’s primary education curriculum, from pre-school ECCE through to 6th class.
For younger children its specialised Montessori equipment promotes hands-on, self-paced learning. Small classes allow teachers at WMPS to really get to know each child and work with them individually and in small groups. By the time they reach 6th class, WMPS pupils are fully prepared for secondary education both academically and as caring, confident, well rounded individuals.
This year, for the second year in a row, sixth class pupils from the school will represent Ireland in the First Lego League Robotics World Championships, which takes place in the US. Their win is a testament to the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts & maths) skills they first started honing at the age of three!
