Credit union sponsors roundabout
A NEW roundabout sponsorship deal has been signed at Arklow Municipal District.
The Knockmore roundabout on the South side of Arklow is the fifth roundabout to receive corporate sponsorship as part of an initiative launched by Arklow Municipal District last year. Now, just three roundabouts in the town remain to be sponsored.
Local councillors and officials met with Tom Brennan, Business Development & Marketing Manager with Altura Credit Union Ltd to sign the contract in recent days.
Altura Credit Union Ltd’s common bond spreads from South Bray to beyond Curracloe in County Wexford which makes it a natural fit to sponsor the roundabout in Arklow. Also, Altura Credit Union Ltd’s new Information Centre opens in 10 Ferrybank Arklow this week.
Since late 2016 a number of roundabouts in Arklow Town have been sponsored by the following businesses from within the Municipal District: Bridgewater Shopping Centre, Topline Bolands Arklow, Avoca River Park and Holfeld Plastics.
The scheme allows sponsors to contribute towards the development and upkeep of roundabouts in the town.
In exchange for sponsorship, each successful sponsor has their business advertised on the roundabout.
Cathaoirleach Cllr Miriam Murphy said ‘This scheme offers an excellent promotional opportunity for businesses and organisations providing the sponsorship along with improving the appearance of the roundabouts for the town’. There are now five out of eight roundabouts sponsored in Arklow Town.
Any business seeking further information on the three remaining roundabouts can contact the offices of Arklow Municipal District on 0402 42700 or by email at ArklowMunicipalDistrict@ wicklowcoco.ie
