Glencree Peace Walk

Wicklow People (Arklow) - - NEWS -

ALMOST €10,000 has already been raised for the second Annual Glencree Peace Walk which will take place on Sunday, September 23, in the Wicklow hills.

The 10km Glencree Peace Walk was launched last year to coincide with International Peace Day and raises both funds and awareness for Glencree, the Republic of Ireland’s only centre dedicated to peace and reconciliation.

This year’s walk will set off from the centre at 1 p.m. and will be officially started by former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern.

The walk is suited to all abilities and skill levels and walkers still have time to signup and funraise for Glencree’s peace-making initiatives. Walkers this year include the German Ambassador to Ireland, Mrs Deike Potzel, with many more signing up daily.
