Lo­cal projects to ben­e­fit from fund

THE Tesco Com­mu­nity Fund will be sup­port­ing a num­ber of new lo­cal projects across Wick­low over the com­ing weeks.

Last week Tesco Ire­land an­nounced the 453 lo­cal projects that will par­tic­i­pate in the new cy­cle of the Tesco Com­mu­nity Fund which got un­der way last week.

For the next eight weeks, cus­tomers are be­ing en­cour­aged to use their blue to­kens in Tesco’s 151 stores to vote for their pre­ferred lo­cal cause en­abling them to make a big dif­fer­ence in com­mu­ni­ties’ right across Ire­land.

In Wick­low alone, the Tesco Com­mu­nity Fund has sup­ported 360 lo­cal projects to date do­nat­ing over €122,437.27.

For the next eight weeks Tesco’s stores across Wick­low will be us­ing their blue to­ken to sup­port a wide range of lo­cal projects.

Shop­pers in Tesco Ark­low will be able to sup­port Avoca Na­tional School, Bearna Chle Na­tional School and St. Michael and Peter Ju­nior School

Tesco Bray and Tesco Bray Ex­press will be sup­port­ing Gavin Glynn Foun­da­tion, Koins For Kids and Wick­low Down Syn­drome

Tesco Grey­stones will be sup­port­ing Grey­stones CFR, Lib­erty Church Bray and Sport­ing Grey­stones Fc

Shop­pers in Tesco Kil­coole Ex­press will be able to sup­port MSD Ac­tion Foun­da­tion/ Sav­ing Dy­lan, Sport­ing Grey­stones FC and Sun­beam House

Tesco Wick­low will be sup­port­ing RNLI Lifeboats Wick­low, Wick­low Sub Aqua Club and Wick­low Town CFR

Chris­tine Hef­fer­nan, cor­po­rate af­fairs di­rec­tor Tesco Ire­land, said: ‘ At Tesco we are de­lighted to be able to sup­port such amaz­ing lo­cal ini­tia­tives through our Com­mu­nity Fund.

‘The Tesco Com­mu­nity Fund is open to a wide va­ri­ety of good causes or groups so if you think you know a lo­cal or­gan­i­sa­tion that could ben­e­fit from some ex­tra fund­ing, please nom­i­nate them in store to­day. Don’t for­get to vote for your pre­ferred cause each time you shop us­ing your blue to­ken, be­cause it re­ally does make a dif­fer­ence.’
