X Fac­tor ad­ven­ture comes to an end for Jack (17)

THE X Fac­tor jour­ney came to an end for Manor Kil­bride teen Jack Tis­dall as pop group United Vibe were elim­i­nated from the show on Sun­day night.

Fol­low­ing con­tro­versy over sound qual­ity is­sues dur­ing the live show, viewer vot­ing time was re­duced leav­ing con­tes­tants with less time to gather votes than usual. Many sup­port­ers from County Wick­low were un­for­tu­nately un­able to get through to cast their vote as the phone lines were jammed.

The group’s men­tor Rob­bie Wil­liams was un­avail­able on the night due to prior com­mit­ments but the group told me­dia after their elim­i­na­tion that they were not up­set about this and that they un­der­stood why he could not be there.

Seven­teen year old Jack Tis­dall who en­tered the com­pe­ti­tion as a solo act and was put into boy band United Vibe, for­merly Vibe 5 for the live shows has had the sup­port of his home vil­lage through­out in­clud­ing his old pri­mary school St Brigid’s NS.

The vil­lage has been cov­ered in posters and it is ex­pected that a large wel­come home event will soon take place.

Jack’s mum Char­lotte said that he is thrilled to have come so far in the com­pe­ti­tion.

‘Jack said the other day that he wouldn’t change a thing and that he was de­lighted to have reached this stage. It was such a won­der­ful ex­pe­ri­ence and the group wants to stay to­gether as they have such an amaz­ing bond al­ready. They are also so happy to have built up a large fan base the ‘UV gang’!’ she said.

‘We are so proud of him and what he has achieved and every­one in Manor Kil­bride is sad to see it come to an end but were so proud to see some­one from the area on X Fac­tor.’
