Benefits of healthy living explored at fit family day
YOUNG and old took part in a free family fitness day hosted by County Wicklow Partnership recently.
The successful event took place a various locations throughout the town and offered over 300 participants an insight into how to lead a healthier lifestyle and to become more active and enjoy a more balanced diet.
A number of information stands were set up offering free advice on healthy eating and fitness while there were yoga and exercise demonstrations running throughout the day. Arklow athlete Mary Nolan Hickey was also on hand to take part in a guided health orientated walk.
The event was organised as part of the Healthy Ireland Programme and coordinated by County Wicklow Partnership and Wicklow Sports Partnership.
A further event will take place in West Wicklow in February.
