Ben­e­fits of healthy liv­ing ex­plored at fit fam­ily day

YOUNG and old took part in a free fam­ily fit­ness day hosted by County Wick­low Part­ner­ship re­cently.

The suc­cess­ful event took place a var­i­ous lo­ca­tions through­out the town and of­fered over 300 par­tic­i­pants an in­sight into how to lead a health­ier life­style and to be­come more ac­tive and en­joy a more bal­anced diet.

A num­ber of in­for­ma­tion stands were set up of­fer­ing free ad­vice on healthy eat­ing and fit­ness while there were yoga and ex­er­cise demon­stra­tions run­ning through­out the day. Arklow ath­lete Mary Nolan Hickey was also on hand to take part in a guided health ori­en­tated walk.

The event was or­gan­ised as part of the Healthy Ire­land Pro­gramme and co­or­di­nated by County Wick­low Part­ner­ship and Wick­low Sports Part­ner­ship.

A fur­ther event will take place in West Wick­low in Fe­bru­ary.
