Talk on herbal­ist op­tions for can­cer pa­tients

A TALK ex­am­in­ing the herbal­ist op­tions for can­cer suf­fer­ers will take place in Wick­low town next week.

Re­cent study on eas­ing some of the side ef­fects of chemo­ther­apy us­ing herbal­ist prepa­ra­tions have shown sig­nif­i­cant less­en­ing of the un­pleas­ant ex­pe­ri­ences of pa­tients. This will be the theme the talk, which takes place in the Do­mini­can Ecol­ogy Cen­tre at 8 p.m. on Tues­day, Septem­ber 19.

Iso­bel Keeling is a qual­i­fied herbal­ist and a natur­o­pathic prac­ti­tioner who runs a clinic in Windgates, Grey­stones. Her own jour­ney from acute ill­ness to full re­cov­ery un­der the treat­ments and ad­vice from Dr John McKenna gave her the in­cen­tive to study and fol­low this branch of nat­u­ral heal­ing ther­apy. She treats clients with a va­ri­ety of ail­ments and has a par­tic­u­lar in­ter­est in the pre­ven­tion and com­pli­men­tary treat­ment of can­cer.

Her talk will be open to all and the dis­course will be of in­ter­est to any fam­ily or in­di­vid­ual who is in­volved in any way with Wick­low Can­cer sup­port groups; both pa­tients and vol­un­teers alike.

There will be no charge for this event but there will be a bas­ket for do­na­tions if any­one wishes to con­trib­ute.
