Credit Union car draw winners
THE presentations came thick and fast at Blessington Credit Union for the annual car draw prizes, followed by a donation to Blessington Community College.
A member of staff was also honoured after completing her exams to be a qualified financial advisor.
Each draw consists of a first prize of a car or cash plus a further four prizes totalling €2000.
The car winner for the August draw was Martin Ryan of Lacken. Helena Miller, Blessington, won €1,000. Stephen McGrath of Baltyboys collected a cheque for €500.
Eimear Flood, Blessington, was presented with a cheque worth 300.
David Browne, Blessington, won €200 in the draw.
The car draw commenced in 2003 is now well established and growing year by year. To date in excess of 1,800 Blessington Credit Union members have signed up to participate.
The Credit Union also collaborated with Blessington Community College as part of the Clued-In programme, whereby students are taught about personal finance and the role of credit unions.
Kieran Burke, Principal of Blessington Community College, was presented with a donation to go toward an upcoming trip being undertaken by transition year students. Finally a special presentation was made to Blessington Credit Union staff member Sindy Farrell who recently passed her final QFA examinations and is now a full qualified financial advisor.
