Wick­low men to ‘four’ as Le­in­ster U-18s put Ul­ster to the sword

A QUAR­TET of Wick­low men played their part as Le­in­ster U-18 Clubs de­mol­ished their Ul­ster coun­ter­parts 0-45 on Satur­day.

Paddy McKen­zie, Sam Porter and cap­tain Luke Thomp­son all started the clash, with Mark Ni­chol­son be­ing sprung from the bench af­ter 46 min­utes.

The ruth­less Le­in­ster side lead 0-31 at the in­ter­val in a mis­er­able Ar­magh venue and eased their foot off the pedal some­what in the sec­ond pe­riod as McKen­zie was with­drawn.

The Gar­den County men didn’t man­age to con­trib­ute any of the six tries notched by the visi­tors on the day but all played their part and put them­selves firmly in con­tention for a start­ing place when they travel to The Sports­ground to take on Con­nacht this Satur­day be­fore round­ing off their cam­paign a week later with a home tie against Mun­ster.
