HOLLYWOOD FAIR COMMITTEE GIVES €25,000 TO LOCAL GROUPS
THE Hollywood Fair Committee donated in excess of €25,000 to local organisations and clubs who play an important role in the local community.
Each year the proceeds of the fair are handed out to eleven main organisations, most of whom are also an instrumental part of the fair’s continued success.
The pre-1950s rural heritage theme of the fair has proved a real hit with people and many who attend the event embrace the spirit of the occasion and dress-up in pre-1950s attire.
The presentation night took place at Hollywood National School and was followed by some light refreshments and snacks.
Among this year’s recipients were Music Under the Stars, St Kevin’s Juvenile GAA Club, Valleymount Church, Hollywood Community Centre, the Church of Ireland, Hollywood GAA Club, Hollywood National School, Hollywood Parish ad Baltinglass Hospital.
John O’Neill, Chairperson of the Hollywood Fair Committee, said: ‘I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the great success of this year’s fair. Even the inclement weather on the day of the sheep show didn’t have any real impact and vast numbers of people still turned out.
‘I hope all the organisations get great benefit from the money we donated to them.’
The Hollywood Fair AGM takes place on Saturday, November 4, at the Hollywood Community Centre at 7 p.m.. Al are welcome to attend.
