€4,000 raised in Cathal’s memory
BROTHERS and friends of Cathal Hyland marked the tenth anniversary of his passing by taking part in a gruelling mountain run in the Ox Mountains, Sligo.
Cathal sadly passed away on October 9, 2007, and, to remember him, his brothers Tommy, Ciaran, Cormac and Pauric, along with 13 of Cathal’s friends, took part in the Ox Challenge.
‘We raised €4,125 for the local Arklow Cancer Support Group,’ said Pauric.
Cormac finished the 10 mile run first of the group in one hour and 16 minutes and came 16th overall out of 300 competitors.
Following their hard run, Cathal’s sisters Denise and Julie prepared a lovely dinner for the group back in Arklow.
‘Neville Doyle of Morgan Doyle Furniture drove us and I want to thank Martin Lynch of 33400 for the use of the bus,’ said Pauric.
Cathal is sadly missed by his parents Ann and Tommy and all of his family and friends.
