Four out of four for un­der-14s

WICKLOW RFC un­der-14s trav­elled to Eden­derry on Satur­day.

This was their fourth out­ing in the Le­in­ster League Pre­mier Di­vi­sion 1.

Hav­ing al­ready se­cured vic­to­ries over Dun­dalk away and Long­ford and Athy at home they headed to Of­faly in con­fi­dent mood.

It was a cold wet day with heavy con­di­tions un­der­foot but the lads dealt with this and started well with two tries from James O’Don­nell, one of which was con­verted by Tom Hodgkin­son.

The for­wards were con­trol­ling the game and James Flem­ing added a third try which Tom Hodgkin­son also con­verted to leave the score 19-0 to Wicklow at half-time.

The sec­ond-half saw Eden­derry come into the game more and they scored two tries, which one was con­verted to put some pres­sure on Wicklow.

But Wicklow re­sponded with an ex­cel­lent team try which was fin­ished by Conor Hunter and Tom Hodgkin­son con­verted.

Wicklow pushed on and scored an­other good try this time Scott Fitz­patrick touched down to leave the score 31 to12 at full-time to Wicklow and four wins from four in this di­vi­sion.
