Joey Fagan retires
There was an emotional evening at the Baltinglass and District Badminton Club recently as the long standing chairman Joe Fagan retired after 37 years of service. Joey was described as a true gent with nothing but the good of badminton at heart. A large crowd, including SWL stalwart, Loftus Warren were on hand with Eoghan Cooney acting as MC to present him with a small token to mark this tremendous service.
Also on the night, the first international player was presented with a surprise presentation, marking his amazing achievement of winning all three national titles this year. Eoghan Cooney heads off to Scotland next week representing Ireland in the under-13. Best of luck to him, your club are all rooting for you.
