Footpath upgrades for Baltinglass
€65,000 for footpath works in Baltinglass will mainly cover areas of the Main Street and further up the town.
Badly needed footpath repairs along Mill Street and Edward Street will take place later in the year as part of works for the N81. Cllr Edward Timmins said: ‘The N81 part of the town, which includes Mill Street and Edward Street, has funding from Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) to cover resurfacing works that weren’t completed last year. ‘This funding will cover the footpaths on those streets. I know Edward Street is in particular bad shape and a number of falls have taken place there recently. I am calling on the council to carry out these works as a matter of urgency.’
