WICKLOW referee Anthony Nolan has been given the job of officiating in this weekend’s All-Ireland Senior football semi-final clash between Monaghan and Tyrone in Croke Park.

Nolan, originally from Grangecon, but currently married and living in Rathnew, has been steadily climbing the inter-county refereeing ladder in recent years and is widely considered as one of the best club referees within the county.

A talented footballer for club (Baltinglass) and county, he moved on to refereeing following his retirement from the game and this weekend’s appointment will enrich a CV that includes last year’s Minor All-Ireland final, this year’s league final between Dublin and Galway, the Leinster under-20 final and three championship games to date in 2018.
