U-11 county fi­nals serve up a real treat in Bal­li­nakill

A great day’s hurl­ing was en­joyed by clubs from across the county in Bal­li­nakill last Satur­day at the un­der-11 county fi­nals.

There were some fan­tas­tic games on dis­play with some of the best young hurlers in the county strut­ting their stuff in a windy but pleas­ant cen­tre of ex­cel­lence.

There was one early game at 12.30pm while the rest of the clashes got und­ser­way at 2pm. That early game saw Avon­dale de­feat St Pat’s in a won­der­ful en­counter.

The other re­sults were as fol­lows:

Barn­dar­rig 0-16, Éire g Grey­stones 0-7; Kil­macanogue 2-1, Éire Óg Grey­stones 0-0; Bray Em­mets 3-3, Ti­na­hely 1-2; Gle­nealy 7-8, Michael Dwyers 0-1; Aughrim 0-18, Michael Dwyers 0-15; Ark­low Rock Par­nells 4-6, Kil­coole 1-6; St Pa­trick’s 4-9, Carnew Em­mets 0-3; Aughrim 0-19, West­ern Gaels 0-13; Avon­dale 0-23, St Pat’s 0-21.
