Our ju­ve­niles took part in the County League with good re­sults all round: Girls–U6 1st Clodagh Phelan; U10 He­len Win­ter­bot­tom 1st; U12 Ciara Colo­han 1st; U14 Lacey Shan­non 2nd; Boys–U8 Will Phelan 2nd; U15 Ed­ward Byrne 2nd. Also great run­ning from the Cor­co­ran sis­ters, Ella Breen, Emma Byrne, Is­abel Bar­rett, Leah Bar­rett, Ava O’Con­nor, Ciara and Jamie Win­ter­bot­tom and Harry Kileen.

Con­grat­u­la­tions to Mick Byrne in tak­ing first place in the au­tumn In­ter­na­tional, Mick qual­i­fies to run for Ire­land in Swansea, Wales on Satur­day, Novem­ber 17.

Best of luck to all our ath­letes tak­ing part in the Le­in­ster Un­even cross coun­try in Adamstown, Wex­ford on Sun­day.


Avon­dale camo­gie club held their cel­e­bra­tion din­ner in Ja­cobs Well on Fri­day last. Club chair­per­son, Caro­line Kinsella was MC for the night, hav­ing a spe­cial wel­come for club pres­i­dents Seán Fields and Pauline Kennedy. She con­grat­u­lated all teams on a very suc­cess­ful year but es­pe­cially the in­ter­me­di­ate team. To­kens of ap­pre­ci­a­tion for their hard work were pre­sented to team man­age­ment He­len Hef­fer­nan and Brian Olo­han.

Medals for both league and cham­pi­onship were pre­sented with Brian giv­ing a brief sum up on each player. He made spe­cial men­tion of the three young girls who made the step up to in­ter­me­di­ate, Ciara Clancy, Siofra Verveen and Or­laith Byrne. The club per­son of the year was Joyce Hef­fer­nan, Most Im­proved Player, Kelly Ka­vanagh and player of the year Katlin Olo­han. A great night for the club.


Re­sults of last whist drive – Top Score: S Brady and part­ner, se­cond place – C Doyle and B Kelly; third place – B Far­rell and T McHugh and fourth place – M Haughton and R Mur­phy. Raf­fle win­ners on the night – M Con­roy, M Flood and R Mur­phy. Next whist drive will be held on Wed­nes­day, Novem­ber 14, at 8.30 p.m. in the Anne Devlin An­nex.


The RDA AGM will be held on Tues­day, Novem­ber 20, at 8 p.m. in the Anne Devlin An­nex. Every­one wel­come.


Thanks to all who at­tended the re­cent Blood Clinic in the com­plex.


The annual Parish Sale of work and auc­tion will take place in the RDA hall on Sun­day, Novem­ber 25, start­ing at 2 p.m. Raf­fle tick­ets are on sale.


The parish­ioners of Rath­drum, Greenane and Clara Vale would like to thank Fr Fran­cis for his time among us and wish him good health and a safe re­turn home to In­dia, where he will con­tinue his min­istry.
