Woman remains in hospital following Sunday road crash
A ROAD around Baltinglass remained closed for a time on Monday morning following a serious road accident on Sunday evening.
The two car collision occurred at approximately 6 p.m. on the R747 at Kilmurray Lower, between Baltinglass and Kiltegan.
The driver of one of the cars, a female in aged in her 40s, was taken to Naas General Hospital and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital with injuries described as serious.
Two female passengers in the car, aged in their 70s and seven years old were taken to hospitals in Naas and Tallaght.
The sole occupant of the second car, a female aged in her 50s, was also taken to Naas General Hospital.
Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
The scene was preserved overnight for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local traffic diversions remained in place until after 10.30 a.m. until examinations wer completed.
