Hair-razing for hospice

Wicklow People - - NEWS -

IT WAS ‘Shave or Dye’ night in Jacob’s Well on Thursday night as some hardy souls decided to either have their barnet completely shaved off or dyed a stunning shade of colour.

The event taking place in Rathdrum was a fundraiser for the Wicklow Hospice Foundation.

Dylan Tarmey managed to persuaded a large group of his friends that they were badly in need of a drastic haircut or some rather striking highlights.

Brandon Doyle got things underway as he had his head shaved. The dye was soon flying thick and fast as the other volunteers weren’t given the opportunity to change their minds.

Adam O’Connor had his beard shaved, while Róisín Daly had her head shaved especially for the occasion.

Sharon Hanlon and Laura Yorke were given the responsibility of all the shaving and dyeing and seemed to revel in their roles.

By the end of the night the whole event had raised €1,144.58 for the Wicklow Hospice, with still more money due to come in.

Albert Webster provided the music on the night, while Jacob’s Well also provided some finger food.
